Play with juicy collage images, textures and technique to discover and express our “heART & soul” in a journal (book) form.
Embrace our intuition and soul’s voice to express and record ourselves out onto our pages.
Explore ways of using words, text, quotes, and poetry in our creative journals to express what our heart needs to say.
Discover ways to incorporate artful expression and creativity into everyday life.
Deeply, richly and soulfully connect with other women in an inspiring, creative, nurturing environment.

About Carolyn:
A graduate of Mount Mary College with Bachelors’ degrees in English, Professional Writing, and Secondary English Education, Carolyn is also a graduate of Rev. Martina Schmidt's Spiritual Mastery Program, Reiki Master Practitioner and Teacher, and is currently studying interfaith ministry.

What is Reiki?

Reiki is the ancient Japanese art of creating deep relaxation through the gentle channeling of spiritually-guided life force energy. Practitioners learn how to open themselves to the flow of compassionate and unconditionally-loving spiritual healing energy so that they can access it for the healing of themselves and others. Reiki helps bring the body into a state of homeostasis, or balance, so that self-healing can begin. Reiki restores and balances life force energy – mind, body and soul. It gently calms emotions, restores self-worth, brings about a sense of peace and well-being and opens the pathway to a deeper connection with purpose and meaning. Many have found Reiki to be very beneficial in reducing stress, grief, worry, anxiety and tension-related physical aches, pains, and illnesses.

Reiki healing is a powerful aid in loosening and releasing any negative, stagnant or ‘stuck’ energies and traumas in the past or present, both at the conscious and subconscious levels. As channeled energy, Reiki is divinely guided and will always go where it is most needed. Coming from Source connection with love and light, Reiki can never do harm, and is always for the highest good of the person, place or situation receiving it.

Shoden – The First Teachings
Reiki Level I – First Degree Reiki Practitioner
Training & Attunement with Reiki Master Practitioner & Teacher Carolyn Gaar, RMT

This first level is about plugging into the Reiki energy and experiencing it directly. Learning Reiki involves an energy activation process called an attunement, which is performed by the Reiki Master with each student. Through this initiation, students are opened to the flow of Reiki energy, which provides an energetic shift, allowing healing energies and enhanced intuitive insights to emerge. The initiation opens innate healing channels, enabling students to immediately tap into the flow of Reiki energy and perform healing sessions.

After being attuned to Reiki, students report having increased energy, self-awareness, peace, and compassion.
